DESCRIÇÃO DA LINHA DE PESQUISA
A atividade de pesquisa é concentrada no estudo do "Sistema Trigeminal" (nervo trigêmio e vias trigeminais no sistema nervoso central), enfatizando-se questões ligadas à hodologia, à conectividade sináptica, aos neurotransmissores e aos padrões de inervação em diferentes territórios anatômicos.
A metodologia utilizada inclui, fundamentalmente, microscopia eletrônica de transmissão, neurotraçadores anterógrados e retrógrados, bem como imuno-histoquímica para neurotransmissores.
