Descrição da Linha de Pesquisa

Nosso laboratório vem estudando alguns mecanismos que atuam sobre proliferação e morte celular tanto no epitélio gástrico quanto intestinal. Estes processos são controlados por um conjunto de fatores que envolvem o padrão alimentar, hormônios e fatores de crescimento. No início do desenvolvimento pós-natal, a amamentação age como uma via importante no controle do crescimento e da maturação do trato gastrintestinal. Procuramos assim, estudar o efeito de alguns hormônios e fatores de crescimento presentes no leite sobre a cinética celular, utilizando  sobretudo técnicas imuno-histo/citoquímicas.
